Grading Samples
Below I have included samples to exhibit my style of grading. This semester I have had exceptional students that have performed very well on all of the assignments. I have included grading samples that display the difference between superior quality work and mediocrity performance. I have included grading samples for the Small Group Project, Informative Speech, and Persuasive Speech.
Small Group Project Critiques
For this task, students were required to work within groups and submit one 3-4 page paper analyzing the relationship between two main characters within a movie of their choice with one concept discussed within Communication 114. The groups are also required to present a 15-20 minute presentation. This project is worth 50 points; 25 points for the paper and 25 points for the presentation. I have included actual samples of 3 presentations entitled "Good", "Better", and "Best". Please pay close attention to the scoring and critique on the papers versus the scoring and critique on the presentations.

Informative Speech Critiques
The Informative Speech is the first speech after the midterm. The students are required to submit a key-phrase outline and 5 outside sources. Selecting a good topic is an essential aspect of the speech portion of this course because this topic is required for the use of both the informative and persuasive speech. I have included the prompt for the assignment and 2 examples of my grading style as attachments below.

Persuasive Speech Critiques
The Persuasive Speech is the final speech of the semester and requires to use the same topic selected for the Informative Speech. For this speech, students must submit an outline using Monroe's Motivated Sequence and can use the same 5 sources from their Informative Speech. I have included the prompt for the assignment and 2 examples of my grading style as attachments below.
